Chester Road Bridgewater Viaduct looking north towards Deansgate

“…shows the scale of change that has taken place in the past five years or so.”

This view is from Chester Road/ Bridgewater Viaduct looking north towards Deansgate.

The photo on the left is from December 2008 (bleak economic times!) looking towards Beetham Tower. On the left is the Grade II listed Former Congregational Chapel, and on the right are the Deansgate Quay apartments.

The photo on the right is from 2025 and shows the scale of change that has taken place in the past five years or so. This includes, on the left, Castle Wharf by RENAKER, designed by OMI Architects on the site of the former Quay Bar (188 apartments); the under construction 21 storey 325 Deansgate apart-hotel, designed by SimpsonHaugh and being delivered by Dean Street Developments (357 bedrooms); and, Fusion’s 28 storey student accommodation scheme (509 bedrooms) - designed by Corstorphine & Wright and currently being delivered by Domis Construction and Mayo Civil Engineering Limited.
