Jacksons Warehouse

“Euan lived there for 18 months!”

The top photo this week is from 2001 and shows the view towards the derelict Grade II listed Jacksons Warehouse in what is now known as Piccadilly Basin, located off Dale Street and totalling almost 13 acres (from memory the first masterplan for the area was prepared in 1997).

The bottom photo is taken early 2024 and is an indicator of the significant progress that has been made in the Basin over the past 20 years or so. This includes Vantage Quay on the left; the converted Jacksons Warehouse (Euan lived there for 18 months!); and - more recently - Burlington House on the right.

A number of other major developments have also been brought forward by Town Centre Securities PLC as part of the Piccadilly Basin regeneration including Carvers Warehouse, Avro (former Brownfield Mill - in partnership with Urban Splash), and Ducie House.

Many thanks to Pennine Waterways for allowing me to use their photo taken from their website: https://lnkd.in/exAC5R3E
