498 new homes approved at Manchester Planning Committee

We secured a unanimous 'minded to approve' decision at Manchester City Council's Planning Committee yesterday on behalf of Kellen Homes and Great Places Housing Group for a new residential development in Newton Heath.

The scheme comprises 498 new apartments and townhouses, including 43% provision of affordable homes, along with extensive planting, sustainable drainage and a new cycle lane along Riverpark Road.

The redevelopment of the former trading estate will transform this part of East Manchester, meeting a wide range of needs including new homes for social rent, opportunities for shared ownership, fully accessible homes as well as new family housing.
