The book chronicles the transformation of Manchester's city centre, with a particular focus on the rebuilding following the terrorist attack in June 1996.
It presents the people, the partnerships and the processes that have made this happen; how Manchester was successfully repositioned and rebranded following years of economic decline. During this time the city centre was transformed from, in places, an industrial wasteland to what is arguably a model of modern day urban regeneration, a place where people want to invest, live, work, study, shop and, of course, relax. This landmark work is lavishly illustrated with over 400 photographs and drawings and was endorsed by RIBA North West and the RICS. The foreword was also written by former Manchester City Council Chief Executive, Sir Howard Bernstein.
