The top photo was kindly shared with us by Alan Parry-Davies and is from Castlefield in the late 1970s, looking towards the derelict Merchants Warehouse along with Bass Warehouse in the distance (Lock Keeper’s cottage also visible on the left and note the Gail House signage in the distance - now know as Eastgate).

The bottom photo was taken in March 2024 and captures some of the incredible transformation at Castlefield, along with the scale of the development around Manchester Central/ Deansgate with Beetham Tower, Viadux, and the StayCity Hotel which is currently under construction.
