Wow..Euan does say this most weeks, but this one really is favourite of his!

The view is from Beetham Tower and the The Manchester Deansgate Hotel, by IHG, looking north along Deansgate.

The top photo was taken back in October 2008 whilst the bottom photo was taken May 2026. Huge thanks to Emma Karri for giving me the chance to take the photo.

We have done our best to set out some of the main skyline changes but, as ever, please let us know if we have missed anything.

From right to left:

No 1 St Michael’s, comprising 180,000 sq ft workspace and 24,500 sq ft food and beverage. Designed by Hodder + Partners on behalf of Relentless Developments.

The under construction W Manchester - also designed by Hodder + Partners and being delivered by Domis Construction, Salboy and Relentless Developments, along with Mayo Civil Engineering Limited. The frame is now up to Level 29 and the facade up to Level 19. The tower is now moving into the W Residences.

Note the crane in the background, where GRAHAM Group is delivering Clarion Housing Group’s Brewery Gardens scheme. This project will bring 505 new homes, 60% of which will be affordable housing.
