Permission Granted for Phase Two of Castle Irwell Development
Salford City Council has granted consent for Phase Two of Salboy’s redevelopment of the former Castle Irwell Student Village site. Phase Two will provide 106 new family homes along with associated car parking, landscaping and other associated works. The proposals, designed by architects Calderpeel, include a mixture of two, three and four bed properties, and have been designed to sit seamlessly alongside Phase One of the development which comprises 157 new homes as well as 3 acres of publicly accessible greenspace to provide an attractive and vibrant new neighbourhood in this part of Charlestown.
This Reserved Matters approval for Phase Two follows on from the granting of outline planning permission (which EKPS secured on behalf of University of Salford) in June 2020, and the granting of approval for Phase One of the development in September 2020.
