Cutting Room Square in Ancoats

“in early 2010 during the depths of the Global Financial Crisis”

This one is definitely one of Euan’s favourites - view across Cutting Room Square in Ancoats towards the Ice Plant development.

The top photo was taken in early 2010 during the depths of the Global Financial Crisis when the scheme, like so many others, had stalled (a stark reminder that the city centre felt a very different place compared to today).

The bottom photo is from the beginning of 2024 and shows the amazing progress that has been made since those dark days, with Cutting Room Square now a hub of activity.
