Comprehensive refurbishment of prominent Grade II listed former cotton mill in Manchester's Northern Quarter

Euan Kellie Property Solutions is proud to have advised ALCO Assets MH Limited on proposals for the comprehensive refurbishment and adaptive reuse of Marlsbro House, a prominent Grade II listed former cotton mill on Newton Street in Manchester's Northern Quarter.

Vacant since 2020, the seven-storey heritage asset will be transformed into a vibrant mixed-use destination comprising creative workspaces, recording studios, a listening lounge, restaurant, private event spaces and premium office accommodation.

The conservation-led proposals have been carefully developed to restore and reveal the building's historic character while securing its long-term future. Through sensitive refurbishment and the introduction of complementary new uses, the scheme will celebrate Marlsbro House's rich industrial heritage and enhance its contribution to the Stevenson Square Conservation Area.

The development will deliver more than 2,500 sq m of high-quality commercial and cultural floorspace, bringing a landmark heritage asset back into productive use and supporting Manchester's thriving creative, hospitality and business sectors. The scheme will ensure that this important building continues to play an active role in the life and economy of the Northern Quarter for generations to come.
