New Office Application submitted for Salboy on Back Turner Street, Manchester

In April 2020 EKPS submitted an application for a new office development on behalf of Salboy on their site on Back Turner Street in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.

The scheme, designed by Jon Matthews Architects, is comprising three unique interlinking buildings of ground plus 5 and 17 storeys including the conversion and extension of the existing warehouse building at 1&3 Back Turner Street to deliver 45,000 sq ft of new office floorspace targeted at smaller creative, digital and tech businesses. The scheme also proposes commercial uses at ground level and significant public realm improvements around the site.

EKPS previously secured consent on the site for Salboy in 2019 for a residential-led development comprising 65 high-specification one, two and three-bed apartments, with commercial uses at ground level.

EKPS were responsible for co-ordinating the application submission and for providing planning advice throughout the project.
