Planning and Listed Building Consent Application submitted for the Great John Street Hotel in Manchester

EKPS is pleased to be working with The Hut Group to progress their plans for the Great John Street Hotel, Manchester, with the submission of an application for Planning and Listed Building Consent in May 2020.

The application seeks consent for the internal refurbishment of the hotel, a new external glass lift and single-storey glass extension; and a replacement rooftop extension and reconfiguration of the rooftop bar.

The scheme, designed by EPR Architects, seeks to upgrade the hotel to reflect the quality and standard expected for a luxury boutique hotel in Manchester in 2020 and beyond, whilst recognising the materiality, spatial quality and historic integrity of the former school building.

EKPS were responsible for co-ordinating the application submission and are continuing to provide planning advice as the project progresses.
